Introduction
Melbourne Backyard pods and Garden Studios is both your no frills budget extra room or your high end finish Studio to compliment your existing home. Either way, we can create that additional space in your backyard. Our standard Backyard Pods and Studio cabins floor plan is 2700mm x 3600mm or 2200mm x 4500mm These sizes optimise material use and less waste. You are welcome to customise our floor plans to match your proposed build location. All our Backyard Pods come with either skillion or gable roof, colorbond corrugated iron or standing seam cladding, You are able to choose from our range of aluminum sliding doors and windows. Our standard budget Backyard Pod in a DIY kit start from $18,990 delivered free in the Melbourne area.
In regards to external cladding and internal finishes, we provide a choice of standard options. Simply choose your preferred options from the list below and we will provide feedback in regards to budget. As our backyard pods are under 10sqm you typically don’t require a building permit so no delays in getting your Pod delivered and assembled.
Please note: Some councils may have certain restrictions with how close you can place your Pod or Garden Studio to a boundary or another building or even an easement. Let us know if you are unsure and we will check on your behalf.
Foundations
Our Backyard pods and garden studios come with several different foundation types.
- Concrete slab you may already have an existing slab we can build on or you have the options for us to install a new concrete slab.
- Galvanised piers concreted into the ground or we can now provide a pad system that works well in areas where heavy equipment may not have access to drill holes.
After we see some photos or visit your proposed building location, then we can provide relevant feedback and recommendations. - All our pods and studios are supplied with a welded galvanised sub floor. Every sub floor is rust proof and being a steel sub floor, safe from termites. Our Pod sub floors can be pre- assembled and delivered or depending on your access delivered in sections and assembled onsite. Either way, we will provide you with the quickest and time efficient method.
Foundations
Frames and Trusses
All Melbourne backyard pod and garden studios are installed with steel Frames and Trusses. We custom design your floor plan, manufacture, then pre assemble your frames prior to delivery. Frames and Trusses are provided with 50 year warranty.
Cladding Options
Melbourne Backyard Pods and Garden Studios come standard with 2 Cladding types. Colorbond or Hardiplank. As a standard finish both cladding types provide a stylish finish in a range of standard colours and no on going maintenance. If you are looking for a super modern finish without on going maintenance have a look at our additional options.
Windows and Doors
Every Garden studio and Backyard pod comes with a standard inclusions. Our base product is supplied with both single and double glazed aluminum windows and doors.
Gutters and Down pipes
All our pods and studios are supplied with a welded galvanised sub floor. Every sub floor is rust proof and being a steel sub floor, safe from termites. Our Pod sub floors can be pre-assembled and delivered or depending on your access delivered in sections and assembled onsite. Either way, we will provide you with the quickest and time efficient method.
